View Full Version : New Yamamoto Sound Craft tube headphone amplifier now available!

It's finally here! Following the design principles of their highly-acclaimed A-08S-series SET amplifiers, Yamamoto has introduced the HA-02 tube headphone amplifier. The HA-02 is a transformer-coupled, zero-feedback headphone amp designed around a pair of Western Electric 408A tubes. Among the features of this headphone amp are:

- Two pairs of RCA inputs.
- A stereo pair of speaker terminals, which allows the HA-02 to be used as an integrated amp with reasonably efficient loudspeakers.
- Premium parts, including Yamamoto's own highly-regarded Teflon tube sockets.
- A resin-infused Japanese cherry chassis.
- Solid ebony support columns for resonance control.

The HA-02 also comes with an AKG-designed interconnect cable that can connect directly to an iPod.

The U.S. retail price of the HA-02 is $975.

Sounds like approx 600 mw output, if I had to guess.

Enough to run my satellites, they are 105db/watt!

Actually, the HA-02 puts out 300mW at the headphone terminal, and a mere 240mW at the speaker terminals. Still, I've been able to use it to play background music through some 89dB monitors I have...

Yamamoto brings that level of attention to detail to every piece I have seen. I saw a very nice audio rack, at the Fest, a very functional piece of eye candy. Even the isolation blocks are well-polished, and look ready for a photo shoot.

Yeah, I've got to admit that I'm VERY impressed with my own HA-02! I've never been much of a headphone user, but that's beginning to change... :music:

Having spent over a month with the HA-02 myself, I would have to say that this is review is spot-on!
