Hi guys...
I just used Deoxit5 and Gold on my beloved Marantz 2270 because the left channel was weak. The left channel is still weak and I can only make it stronger if I push the HIBLEND button in next to the MULTI PATH. I think the button need a good cleaning too but don't know how as I don't see any hole or path to the inside.

of there are no openings on the switch, take the botton off the switch and lightly squirt the deoxit down the shaft. It will get inside the switch so you can then work the switch to get it clean.

For once, I'm going to disagree with JP.
Carefully applied to the chinks, margins and micro-holes of this pushbutton switch, DxoxIT will enter the switch sufficiently for cleaning. Make sure the Deox is applied with the thin spray tube and on the low setting to reduce overspray. I recommend three cleaning sessions spaced a few minutes apart, with the switch being worked about a hundred times each pass.
Taking a switch apart is a very risky procedure.

no arguements here. If you have openings, use them. definitely do not take apart the switch if you cacn avoid it. Nothing like old brittle parts givving way to disaster.

It worked Fred. My 2270 is now much better. I am going to do a bias check and it'll be fine. Thanks so much.
