Thanks, Steve stormy 10-19-2006, 02:24 PM Hey Steve, I bought the same exact unit a few weeks ago but haven't really used it. I was only getting sound through 1 channel when I was hooking it up so I may have an issue - I need to mess with it some more. It is in excellent condition - the seller said it was his backup unit so it was hardly ever used. Beautiful RTR. What is your impression of the RTR? (other than the speed issue) Thanks, Mark Daicom 10-20-2006, 10:04 PM I really like this unit...I was selling an older AKAI 1710w to a guy from Craigslist, when he came over he said he use to repair AKAI reel decks in the 70's at a service center, he said my GX-260D would probably outlive both of us...in regards to the speed problems, the GX-260D has a dual pulley on the motor so he moved the belt over and at last it's fixed!! it plays the correct speed, I would have never guessed that one and probably paid a repair shop $100 plus dollars for fixing it..... So for helping me I gave him the 1710W for free....... we were both happy!! :music: :thmbsp: blooeyz 10-30-2006, 10:21 PM hi all; On the subject of moving the capstan drive belt over to a different size pulley to effect correct playback speed. this technique also works on the Akai GX 210d, 215d, 220d... and gx225d...and probably others... this is a great site!!!! |
