And once again,I bring you....the Scan of the Week....this week it's from Mitsubishi Car Audio....did you know,at one time, you could have "individual" audio components in your car!!,IF you had the space, and the money, you could have a separate integrated amplifier,a tuner, and cassette deck in...or under...or somewhere, about your dash. These "components" where pretty cool, you just need the space in you car to mount them. :scratch2: Of course if you had, say,a van or RV,you could get creative, but in a VW bug...well,thats another story. But in all honesty, this was an interesting group of car stereo components from Mitsubshi, their attempt at least to replicate the home audio sound & look in your car..or whatever you were driving back then. And the specs weren't too shabby either.Did anyone out there ever have any of these neat "Car-ponents"?? Till next week......Rob

The FM tuner is neat. I'd buy it if I came across it.

They had some much more interesting stuff. CX747 I think was the model. I should have those manuals somewhere.

I'd grab a few pieces here, and build a wooden cab for them with a power conversion for home use. These would make a killer small bedroom setup. Check the amp- it's got TWO aux. ports!

Sorry...there's no date on the brochure, will have to find a buyer's guide somewhere in my literature and see if I can narrow it down to what year. Rob

Clarion use to offer similar products. I don't know about in the USA, but in Japan at the PX in the late 70's and early 80's.

Well...I did find some other Mitsubishi brochures, dated 1979 and 1980,with these car stereo components in them, along with the CJ-22 Am/Fm Electronic Tuner, and the CV-23 60 watts(30 watts x 2)Control Amplifier Graphic Equalizer,so there were more options for your setup,a total of 6 audio car components in all!! Rob

It was a CZ747 I was remembering. It had a digital tuner, and the s/m is 1983, so these gems predate 1983. Mits entered the us market around 1979 with their VS501 projection tv and a single speed VHS rebadged JVC vcr.

Fascinating stuff. No doubt a wood case would look fantastic. 20 bold watts pumpin'...
