Just got my SX 838 from Brown, and I see that the lamps on the left side of the dial, specifically for the two tuning meters, are not blue. In otherwords, the meters are, well, not blue, but the rest of the dial is. Also, it seems to be really brightly lit inside. Is this normal? I thought the whole dial, and the meters, were supposed to be blue. Is this just a case of the wrong bulbs maybe, or missing blue tinting somewhere? Before I go tearing into it, does anyone have guidance for me? Thanks :scratch2:

As I remember correctly, the lamps on m SX-737 are not blue. The blue is from the plastic material which filters the light.

The tuning meters are suppose to be blue. What color are you having??
I have a SX-939 for parts that have greenish/yellow illuminated meters but that is because the housing shroud of the meters turned yellow with age...or smoking??

Maybe it's time for lamp color filters?? Lamps (http://home.earthlink.net/~dwojo/index.html)
