Sounds like a challenge ;)

Grumpy,

So the hotel has a new name is it under new ownership or management? Can we expect the same basic setup and treatment?

Looks great Luther.

I don't remember Craig being loud and boisterous at the fest X2 years ago, you guys must have done something to him last year.

Actually it wasn't me getting loud it was some of the guy's that were hanging in my room. My system is able to play really loud so many of them seem to enjoy letting it rip. I myself rarely listen above 85 to 90db. At one point last year Gonzp put some heavy techno bass recording on at probably 1am or so, cranked the volume control higher then I had ever set it just before the music started, when the music came on I seriously thought the walls were going to come down in the room they seemed to be actually flexing!! I ran for the volume control instantly! I couldn't believe Luther who was sleeping below didn't say something to me the next day. Old patrick was laughing pretty hard. It was kind of funny after the fact but scary at the moment kind of thing.

Then join the rest of the world, and go metric, young man. A fifth is about 3/4 of a litre.

I'm considering going. In my brief time on this forum you guys have made a great impression on me. It kinda feels like home. What goes on? Does everyone show and tell, or is there like a conference room with stuff, or what?

Check out the AK Fests forum, and look for pictures, read the comments.

Oh, and be sure to drop in, at the '07. If you don't have a great time, well, I'll be surprised.

Absolutely!! I would be amazed if someone came away from any of the AK fests so far and not at least said that had fun and met some wonderful people. Luvvinvinyl being one of the best examples of "great people" to meet. You won't find an audio meet that has less audiophile snob type attitude just great down to earth people that love music and all types of gear to reproduce it from home brew economy gear to some higher priced high end gear.

I wish I could join you guys this year for all the festivities. Maybe next time. I am looking forward to someday being able to put some faces to the names I know from being an AK member for a year now. And of course, downing substantial quantities of whichever fine brew is available at the time, whilst making some new friends at the same time.:)
Sounds like you all have a lot of fun at these get togethers from what I've read here.
Wishing all of you a great time this year, and Happy Holidays to all.
