View Full Version : Antique Wireless Association 2003 Meet Kamakiri 08-20-2003, 04:50 PM Lots of pics to come.... Here was the scene upon my arrival, at around 230 AM....nobody's up yet :) Kamakiri 08-20-2003, 04:50 PM Around 5:30 am Kamakiri 08-20-2003, 04:51 PM This very unusual Regal TV had a $250 price tag. Kamakiri 08-20-2003, 04:52 PM Hm, how much money do you think is in this pic? Kamakiri 08-20-2003, 04:53 PM This Predicta will go home with it's seller at $325........ Kamakiri 08-20-2003, 04:54 PM One of the many aisles Kamakiri 08-20-2003, 04:56 PM These Transoceanics were reasonable at $100 ea Wardsweb 08-20-2003, 04:57 PM So, did you get any goodies?:dunno: Kamakiri 08-20-2003, 04:58 PM Getting there...... This Crosley needs a new home....and a lot of help. Kamakiri 08-20-2003, 04:59 PM A few pieces of Euro vintage SS were there.... Kamakiri 08-20-2003, 05:00 PM These are RCA commercial theater amps. Rated at 70 watts each, asking was $350 the pair. Kamakiri 08-20-2003, 05:02 PM . Kamakiri 08-20-2003, 05:04 PM More pics coming... Kamakiri 08-20-2003, 05:05 PM More stuff Kamakiri 08-20-2003, 05:05 PM This Transvision had a $300 price tag, with all the paperwork. Saw somebody ended up taking it home. Kamakiri 08-20-2003, 05:07 PM Broadcast microphones, can you say $$$ ?! Kamakiri 08-20-2003, 05:11 PM After all of about 6 hours of nonstop walking, I ended up with a pretty battered McIntosh MC40 for $150. Prices this year haven't reflected the recent huge drops we've all been seeing, and sadly a lot of vendors I think will end up walking away with the stuff they brought. I probably would have ended up with more had there been anything I really had to have, but there wasn't unfortunately anything of that category in attendance today. The piles of Fisher and Eico gear that I saw there last year just weren't there....in all reality it was probably the worst meet there in the 7 years I've gone. Wardsweb 08-20-2003, 05:16 PM Well maybe it was a good thing everyone didn't show up. As for the amp, are you going to rebuild it or what? Kamakiri 08-20-2003, 07:48 PM Now here's the clincher. I was told it was an MC40, but it's not. It's a McIntosh A129, 75 watt monoblock with push-pull KT88s. Audio Classics has a rough one for $1995.00  Maybe I'll make out okay after all :D Rob 08-20-2003, 09:07 PM Originally posted by Kamakiri Now here's the clincher. Mono appears to be coming back in as there seems to be a lot of interest in monoblocs these days. ;) How about pics of the beast. Thanx for posting pics of the meet. It sure looks empty there compared to the last time I went 4 years ago. Rob ProAc_Fan 08-21-2003, 02:14 AM Tim looks like you had a blast. What camera did you use as I know yours was stolen? Oh BTW,did you get those tube shields for my H/K? Mike millerdog 08-21-2003, 02:57 AM Nice score Tim! Man those were some awesome pics! I am jealous. MikE 08-21-2003, 10:37 PM Looks like fun. Afraid that's too much temptation for me! Were there tubes there also? MikE Kamakiri 08-21-2003, 10:42 PM There were but a few tube vendors, but I do recall seeing some cool looking blue globe 45s and such. There were guys that had enormous boxes of them, still new in the boxes, for $10 a box. Off course that's like a needle in a haystack kind of thing, but if you wanted it tube-wise, it was probably there. Rob 08-22-2003, 01:04 AM Mike, Before you go into respiratory arrest, Tim's just yanking your chain about those blue 45's. :smsex: Rob Kamakiri 08-22-2003, 07:00 AM No I'm not.....there was a guy that had a bunch of blue tubes in a display. Rob 08-22-2003, 01:45 PM Tim, Sure there are blue tubes there but nobody was selling N.I.B. , N.O.S. blue 45 triodes for $10.00 each. Rob Kamakiri 08-22-2003, 02:59 PM You know, now that you mention it, it does look like I said that, doesn't it? Duh, my bad :D |
