Since nobody on the net has tried this before, I thought we'd give this forum a go. We've got a pretty good following here that owns McIntosh gear, including Grump, myself, and many others.....as our readership grows, we may add other forums to cater to the interests of our membership. If you have any good ideas, drop me a note at audiokarma@aol.com

Incidentally, if you're a McIntosh nut who knows the marque well, this moderator slot is open.....PM me if interested.

Cheers! :beerchug:

Hey Kam, Great idea! A most pleasant surprise when I signed in today. A McIntosh forum in the AK spirit of friendliness!
My name is Carl and yes, I'm a Mc-aholic.:D
I was looking through the transferred posts, a few I've missed the
first time,, especially the A7 as I did put mine in my garage
3 years ago and there they sit.

I am new here, and have enjoyed music siince I was a child. It wasn't until recently that I coould satisfy my craving for better sound. I have nursed my pioneer sx-2300 for a good twenty years, and have rebuild my ads l710's twice. But I will never forget the time I walked into my neighbors house and heard his Macintosh Amp coupled to a pair of Klipsch Imperial Horns. The man suffered from chronic migrain headaches, and the only thing that gave him relief was his stereo system. That was 1957 or so, I have yet to experience that Unique sensation again. I will be looking forward to seeing future posts on the MAC.

I've only been a McIntosh owner for a few short years, but I've thoroughly enjoyed the aural ride thus far. My current MC250 never ceases to amaze me; its tube-like warmth and SS punch makes this particular Mac a joy to own, and my Klipsch horn-loaded Cornwalls are forever singing their songs of praise! Ultimately, I'd love to own a vintage MC240 or MC275 vacuum tube amp, but for now I have no intentions on selling my MC250, ever!:D

Kamakiri & Co.: Thanks for opening this Mac forum. It's quite comforting to see other fellow McIntosh owners posting advice, facts, opinions & questions with passion in the voices...

Maybe it's my imagination but after posting on another audio forum for several years, I've noticed there seems to be a direct correlation between social skills & common sense (as well as intelligence) and the perceived quality of one's audio system.

I've been visiting Mac dealerships since I was six. I've yet to run into a single Mac owner who is condescending or mean-spirited (in person or as a forum member). I hear a modest tone of understated joy when people talk about their love of Mac gear. OK, sometime we boast a little. -LOL- But like a Mercedes owner, we know what we enjoy most & we're willing to pay (for the most part) a premium for the joy it brings us...

Did I say that correctly?

Looking forward to learning much more about Mac gear from fellow Mac-aholics.
Seasons Greetings!
Billy
