Which would you rather a head cold or stomach flu?

Stomach flu. Usually over in 48-72 hrs, this damn cold is beginning its 3rd week. Not sick w/it anymore, but the EFX are still there...

Sandy, I'm also entering my third week with a cold. The thing about the stomach and intestinal flu is that the abdominal cramps can be so painful that it is close to the worst pain I've ever had. For the brief time you're going through that pain you would probably want to trade it for a cold.

Don't like having an upset tummy. (Have one right now.) Would rather have a head cold...seem to be able to shake those in a few days.

Man, nothing beats a good head cold with infected sinuses!

All that thick yellow snot that's got to be blown out. Sometimes ya gotta stop and take a fresh lungful of air then start blowing again. They're like pulling night crawlers outta yer face! This big:bigok:

Then when it all starts to dry up, you can pick for hours. I like when you gotta go real deep and you can just barely hook the crusty edge and you pull it out. Sometimes there's a gelatinous mass that is dragged out behind it. It's like playing with trains.:grnbounce

Plus, as a bonus your nostril hairs can become imbedded in the crust and you can rip out those unsightly tufts.
Conversely, you can latch onto a hair and jerk out a booger as a bonus!

Stomach flu usually presages diarrhea for me. And that just gives me a sore sphiincter. Nothing to induce a sense of pride and accomplishment there.:beerchug:

Rgr, that's gross! :lmao: All true, mind you, but gross when it's in print.
That said, I'll take a cold. Having the flu puts me out of commission for up to a month, but a cold only lasts me about a week.

Rgr, 10-4 on playin' w/the boogers 'n' snots, that's much fun, but here lately my colds seem to go into my chest, & make me cough them GOOD coughs-the ones where you see lightnins 'n' shit- then the next day my chest feels like Hulk Hogan has taken a Louisville Slugger to me...I'd rather have a "turnin' Japanese" case of the shits & get it over with...

I've noticed that hot cocoa seems to help reduce the urge to cough. I've read that it contains a chemical that is more powerful than codene for interrupting the coughing reflex. It's a soothing drink to boot.

I have to agree that the stomach flu actually really really hurts during its apex. I'd rather have a head cold that's mild as opposed to pain for 72 hours.

Hey, speaking of illnesses, I didn't realize I had epilepsy until I saw OvenMaster's avatar. ( 0 :

And since you axed, I started getting a scratchy throat Thursday afternoon.
Have a cold now, but it's not the worst. Don't mind the flu too much because I think I get it every once in a while, gives me a day of sour stomach, but is largely asymptomatic. Used to think I got a really bad cold twice a year, but it turned out my allergies kicked in at about age 40.
Oh, joy! Fortunately, there is Claritin, and it's halfpriced generic alternative...

36 hours of the two bucket disease (stick your head in one and sit on the other) finished up with 12 hours of the dry heaves, then feeling like your guts have been twisted and wrung out for a another day or so, No thanks. I'll take the head cold

This is the sickest poll yet.:smoke:

If given the choice, I would take the head cold. I have sent desperate pleas to my maker when sickened by a stomach virus.:puke:
