Hello,
Writing to ask the classical experts out there what the best performance of Rimsky-Korsakov's Scheherazade is? Not the best recorded, but the best performance by an orchastra.
Thank you!
I've always enjoyed the Fritz Reiner/Chicago Symphony version (RCA LSC-2446 Released: August, 1960).

I haven't heard a bad version of the classical masterpiece. A very good intro to classical music too.

I've always enjoyed the Fritz Reiner/Chicago Symphony version (RCA LSC-2446 Released: August, 1960).
That's the performance I have as well only it's the Living Stereo SACD hybrid and it's coupled with Stravinsky's Song Of The Nightingale.
Durski, I think the sonics, and most importantly, the performance, is quite satisfying but I am far from being any kind of a classical music expert. Is your preference with vinyl or digital? Doesn't matter?
Cheers
