Hi,

I am playing with the thought to buy a MS300. What I want to do is copying all of my CD's to the MS300. Now I did read somewhere, I forgot where, that under the DMRA (Digital Millennium Rights Act) it is illegal to make a copy of my own CD's. I find this is pretty strong tobacco. Can someone with a law background shed some light on this?

Thanks

Rudy

The MS300 is compliant with all current law. You very well may make copies of your CDs from the MS300 for YOUR PERSONAL USE. That is how the law states it! You must use audio CD blanks which cost about $0.85 each at Best Buy. A portion of the cost of the blank disk is returned to the artists. Or so they say...

Thanks,

Ron, my goal is it to copy all of my CD's onto the MS300 and play it from there. Because a HD is much more stable in delivering data than a CD unit. But you answered my question, thanks.;)

I have another question regarding MS300. Is this unit capable of playing the Redbook part of an hybrid SACD? This question might be odd, but there are units which do not support SACD/Hybrids. Like the 'Zero One'.

Thanks

The CD layer of hybrids is not a problem for the MS300. It plays them fine.
