Sandy G 11-22-2006, 08:38 PM Justin Timberlake's "My Love"...Especially that insipid "Deee-dee-dee-deet-deet-dee" business in the background that sounds like Alvin & the Chipmunks...Heard it last nite when I was out w/Bethany & Shay. Generally don't listen to teenage girl music, this was on ALL over the radio. Dee-dee-deet-deet-deet-dee.....Somebody please knock me upside the head & MAKE IT GO AWAY !!!!!
JDaniel 11-22-2006, 08:39 PM Thanks for the suggestion Sandy. I've been trying to decide what to send you for Christmas. That J.T. cd will be just the trick.

SPL db 11-22-2006, 08:41 PM Well, if one copy is good, then two will be even better!
Thanks for the suggestion Sandy! :D

I like that song. Ram Jam's one and only good song. It rocked pretty good.
Andyman 11-22-2006, 09:09 PM I like that song. Ram Jam's one and only good song. It rocked pretty good.
Yeah, but it can stick in your head for days at at time. :D
JDaniel 11-22-2006, 09:09 PM Never mind that damned "Abra Abra Cadabra" song from the 80s....
JD
doucanoe 11-22-2006, 09:10 PM I watched those AMA awards the other day with my 16 yr old daughter. I lasted about 30 minutes then has to leave the room. I was treated and introduced to the Cheetah Girls and Pussycat Dolls among others.
Im sure JT was going to make an appearance at some point so it sounds like I was spared the pain and suffering of getting that song stuck in my head.
If Black Betty doesn't work, try Turkey in the Straw.
Turkey in the straw, turkey in the straw.
da da lant dant dant dant dant dant da, da da lant dant datalanta dant dant da.

"Someone's knockin at the door. Somebody's ringin the bell. Someone's knockin at the door. Somebody's ringin the bell. Do me a favor, open the door, and let em in..." (The marching tin soldiers bridge is particularly inspiring)
"Abra abra cadabra, wanna reach out and stab ya" (sampled hippity hoppity version)

Drybasement 11-22-2006, 10:16 PM How about this Sandy?
My life is brilliant
My love is pure.
I saw an angel. Of that I'm sure.
She smiled at me on the subway. She was with another man. But I won't lose no sleep on that, 'Cause I've got a plan.
You're beautiful. You're beautiful.You're beautiful, it's true.
I saw your face in a crowded place, And I don't know what to do, 'Cause I'll never be with you.
Yes, she caught my eye, As we walked on by.
She could see from my face that I was, Fucking high,
And I don't think that I'll see her again,
But we shared a moment that will last 'till the end.
You're beautiful. You're beautiful.You're beautiful, it's true.
I saw your face in a crowded place,And I don't know what to do,'Cause I'll never be with you.
La la la la la la la la la You're beautiful. You're beautiful. You're beautiful, it's true.
There must be an angel with a smile on her face,
When she thought up that I should be with you.
But it's time to face the truth, I will never be with you.
Hehehehe
Dusty Chalk 11-22-2006, 10:27 PM "...Bank job in the city.
Robin hood and william tell and ivanhoe and lancelot, they dont envy me.
Sitting till the sun goes down,
In dreams the world keep going round and round...."
That's revenge for all y'all putting this stupid medley in my head:
"...WHOA! black betty, ram-buh-lam..."
"...Dee dee de-dee dee dee..." (Bee Gees -- I haven't heard the Justin Timberlake song)
"...A-bruh a-bruh cadabruh, I wanna reach out and grab ya..."
Argh! They're all playing at the same time!
doctorbongo 11-22-2006, 10:47 PM I'm working on a "You're Beautiful/Had a Bad Day" medley with my alternative band, Death Becomes You.
Happy to report the only words to either song I know are the ones in the titles. And I work for a station that plays that dreck.
Sandy G 11-22-2006, 10:52 PM That OTHER JT song, "SexyBack"-the one that sounds like the mic gain was turned up too high in the studio-isn't as bad as "My Love"... And what was that one from awhile back-Oh, yeah, "The Milkshake Song"...
blue_lateral 11-22-2006, 10:52 PM Lovin you, is easyer than hmm..hmm..hmm.

Sandy G 11-24-2006, 06:55 PM "Tra la la la, Lala la, tra la la, lala la la....
One Banana, Two banana, Three banana, four
Four bananas make a bunch & so do many more.
Over hill & hiway the Banana Buggies go,
Comin up to bring you the Banana Splits Show..."
Take that, mofos....<grin>
mhardy6647 11-24-2006, 07:49 PM Way on the other side of the Hudson
Deep in the bosom of suburbia
I met a young girl she sang mighty fine
"Tears on my Pillow" and "Ave Maria"...
Sandy G 11-24-2006, 07:59 PM "AIR-AIR-AIRREE-AL..." Ah, yess....Dean Friedman, the poor man's Billy Joel...And Mark- Did you honestly think you could stump me w/that one ?!?...I remember down here in the South, they cut out all references to Ariel being Jewish, so as not to rile our redneck sensibilities...Me having a radio that would pick up farther away than 15 miles, I got the "un-sanitised" Yankee version...I just liked the lines about her wearing a peasant blouse w/nothing underneath, & being high...That was a lot more "controversial" than her being a Jew, to me, anyway...
mhardy6647 11-24-2006, 08:40 PM A great song IMNSHO. I picked up a copy of the album at Thedelihaus's soiree last week on the South Shore -- I am PUMPED.
I said "Hi" and she said
"Yeah, I guess I am..."
No, I didn't expect to stump anyone, but it's a good earworm.
BTW, if anyone here needs to fight fire with fire, the all-time great earworm IMNSHO is "It's a Small World After All"!
RichPA 11-24-2006, 08:48 PM I have learned not to complain about having songs stuck in my head, because my wife believes (and is perfectly willing to prove by singing a few lines) that they can always be replaced by something worse ... I see that she is not alone :)
Sandy G 11-24-2006, 08:49 PM Hmmmm. I remember seeing a very disturbing photomontage of Auschwitz, Hiroshima, h-bomb tests, general destruction of WW2 set to "It's A Small World"...I was a kid of 6, 8, maybe 10 & it REALLY bothered me.
tentoze 11-24-2006, 08:54 PM Justin Timberlake's "My Love"...Especially that insipid "Deee-dee-dee-deet-deet-dee" business in the background that sounds like Alvin & the Chipmunks...Heard it last nite when I was out w/Bethany & Shay. Generally don't listen to teenage girl music, this was on ALL over the radio. Dee-dee-deet-deet-deet-dee.....Somebody please knock me upside the head & MAKE IT GO AWAY !!!!!
Just where in the hell do you hear this kind of dreck to even know it enough for this to happen in the first place? I wouldn't recognize a Justin Trousersnake song if somebody drilled a hole in my head and poured it in.
jpdylon 11-24-2006, 09:11 PM I was beginning to wonder the same myself....
who subjects you to this stuff anyways Sandy? Do you actually search it out, or are you just tormented at work by stupid people? Annoying stuff like that belongs parked out at 50 with a smith&wesson. If people close to you enjoy listening to that garbage, you need to get them professional help.
Jukin Jay 11-24-2006, 09:13 PM I met him on a Monday and my heart stood still.
Da doo ron ron ron, da doo ron ron...
Sandy G 11-24-2006, 10:11 PM I hear it at work, & then Bethany & Shay torture me w/it...But there is something else. I HONESTLY believe I am slightly Aspergic, a mild form of autism, & my "jones" is popular music, from the late 1940s to about 1985. I can name a goodly number of songs & the year they came out from that era. I'm not always right, but I am right more than I'm wrong.People think I'm VERY smart;I'm not, I can just remember things. "Da Doo Ron Ron" came out in 1963 by the Crystals, & in '77 by Leif Garrett...If I indeed am Aspergic, there is nothing I can do about it, just adds an interesting dimension to my admittedly warped personality.

jimfet 11-27-2006, 09:32 AM SOMTHING in the way she MOVES,
I love that song. The best I've heard is the version I have of Sanatra doing it.:thmbsp:
