Opinions on sound. Are these deals?

DQ-32 (http://losangeles.craigslist.org/sfv/ele/239867548.html)

DQ-10 (http://losangeles.craigslist.org/wst/ele/237815910.html)

Not mine.

I just picked up a pair of DQ-10's and find their sound to be pretty amazing, althought they need a powerful amp to bring it all out.

Cheap price. They bring 400-700 on ebay.

The 10's look to be in great shape- a damned good price for a fine set of speakers.

Never heard the 32's, but I think they were Dahlquist's later TOTL, a big brother to the 20's. If they improve on the sq of the 20's (which routinely sell for that and more), they'd be worth 4 bills to me.

As I read the DQ-10 ad above, I think it is for one speaker.

Not a pair. Yes?

Sam,
My DQ-10's and Marantz 2500 sound absolutely phenominal together! A perfect match as far as I'm concerned.
Take your 2500 with you (yeah right:D ) to the audition and I am willing to bet you buy the DQ-10's!

ReEdger: Which of your 2500's are you using? I went for the DQ-32's. Spectacular sounding is all I can say. I also scored a set of Braun SM 1006 TC's. Also spectacular sounding. Has "mittelton und hochton" gain controls on the top. Duff and Thed will be interested in these. A great day if you ask me and prices were reasonable. Pics and report to follow. Sam.

Pics of the Brauns are over in Speakers. The DQ's are monsters. I haven't set them up yet...

Hey Sam. Those DQ 32s have been on for awhile. I think this guy had a pair of JBL L7's also for the same price a couple of months ago. He had the L7's and the DQ-32's on together at one time. I bet you could talk him down a little bit. As for those DQ-10's... That guy has alot of nice stuff. Most of it has been repaired. You might want to check to make sure everything is original on these. GOOD LUCK!!!

Elgato8905: I saw the L7's. I wasn't offered them but frankly, I was more interested in the DQ-32's. BTW, this guy was a decent fellow with some nice gear. He was kind enough to audition some electrostatic speakers. I almost called the DQ-10 seller but didn't. Sam.

Sam, I have the DQ-10's hooked up to the first Marantz 2500, which is going to be a keeper.
Everything that I've heard about DQ-10's, open, very clean, clear and accurate, power hungry, etc has shown to be true. I love them. They are Legends for sure. If you ever come across a pair, hook them up to one of your 2500's and you yourself will be hooked!

Good advice and a pairing to look forward to. I'm tempted to try a 2500 with my DQ-32's but the 32's are particularly power hungry and I don't want to stress the 2500's tranny.

Hi SoCal Sam.... I've got a chance to pick up a pair of the Braun SM 1006 TC's, about 250 Canadian pesos.... what's your overall impression of them? I'm gonna use them with my Braun Atelier system. Cheers, FenderTele
