Item is described as: B&W Nautilus 802 BUY IT NOW PRICE: $3000
No reserve and no BIN link. The auction is up to $122.50. If it closes and doesn't appoach the $3k mark, is the guy just screwed and has to send to the buyer or is this another example of "I'm a dumbass seller and made a mistake, now YOU the buyer have no recourse"?

Might be hi-jacked account. He's asking to contact him directly at another email address and hasn't sold an item since Jan 8th.

Traditional BIN disappears after the first bid. I would think its hijacked regardless.

What is meant by hi-jacked?

Somebody is using this ebayers account, hence it is hijacked. Its a big no-no to request people email directly in order to bid or buy - it is unregulated by Ebay and points to a potential hijacked account, or a unscrupulous seller.

If the account is not hijacked, the seller will be out a hefty posting fee, which is a percentage of the BIN amount. Not to good for the seller. He gets one more try to post without repeat posting fees.

Lately it seems that the BINs are staying up even after bids have been placed. They are supposed to disappear as soon as a bid is put on an item I thought.

The Buy It Now ONLY disappears if there is NO reserve. If the seller has placed a reserve and the bidding has not reached that point, the BIN remains.

This discussion is moot, as the listing has been pulled.
