For all of the jaded spinners out there:

Did you ever get tired of setting through a whole album from the same artist? If so, you should look into the old Franklin Mint cased sets. This is top drawer stuff, the vinyl appears to be better stock than any 180 gr albums that I have, not to mention the detailed paperwork that comes enclosed.

Lots of classics you will never find elsewhere. Most of them have not been played much, I've still got several sets that I"ve yet to break the shrink wrap on.

Check 'em out, you'll do yourself a big favor. Iff'n you don't just love Jim Reeves/Nashville Sounds, then you don't know nothin' 'bout music, fer as I'm concerned.

PS: They got classical, country, jazz, 50's, pop, etc, etc, check 'em out.

PPS: Don't run the price up on Ebay while I'm bidding on 'em.

Thank you for your time, Charles. Consider this to be my good deed for the day.

Sounds like you bought 'em right. I've got four of the Grammy sets, need to get some more.

I've currently app 1/3 of the Classicals, 1/3 of the country (I think they're my favorites, & I don't much like country), 1/4 of the fifties, 1/5 of the jazz, & a box of cassettes.

Don't buy the cassettes, no matter how cheap they are. Seems like they were recorded at too low volume, at least my Sansui 3110 don't like 'em.

Gotta love that red vinyl, would make my sticker peck out, providing it would peck out.

OK, I landed the Glenn Miller album from the swing series. Just got it cleaned and listening for the first time tonight.

My initial reaction is that this is a very good pressing of these tracks. I grew up listening to these on mid-fi equipment, they were a favorite of my Dad's. The record has a sense of presence and "space" that I do not recall from the original albums. Some of the tracks are alternate recordings I've never heard, including a live version of Tuxedo Junction with the audience clapping along at the beginning and responding to the soloists. Overall a very nice well-mastered album, I'll be looking for more of these. :music:

Thanks Charles, good lead here. :thmbsp:

I've got two sets.

Country Gosple Vol. 2 and
Bluegrass Vol. 1

Great sets, beautifully packaged. I think I paid $20 CDN each.
I once saw a complete set of 50 units at a used record place. I didn't want them all at the time. The store wouldn't let me cherry pick the ones I wanted.
