Kenwood 700M off ebay. Has one odd knob on it, other than that looks ok. Seller says it works fine and all lights work. We shall see. I could'nt believe I was the only bidder. I hope something fishy is'nt going on.:para:
Gonna take a ride down to Cleveland and pick it up.

I just spoke with the seller on the phone and he assured me that he knows how to pack. So I said okay ship it. Fingers crossed.

It's been a while but i think i've bought some Altec stuff from that seller, I think they're AOK to deal with, in fact if memory serves my transaction was outside of ebay. They offer a lotta cool gear.

Also, thanks to any of you guys who recognized me and laid off the bidding. I'll let you know if I'm happy or sad when I unpack this behemoth. If anyone can help me out with an input selector knob for this amp that would be awesome. Someone stuck an ugly black plastic knob on it. Does anyone know if these are exclusive to this amp or would there be similar knobs on say another model Kenwood receiver or amp of the same vintage?

that my amp will arrive in good condition. I received a tracking number via pay pal this morning and immediately tried to use it. No go on the tracking number, so I emailed the seller thru ebay and within 5 minutes he called me as we had already exchanged phone numbers, and I talked with him for about 45 minutes. He informed me that it's probably to soon to track the package right now and assured me that the amp is well packaged with 4 inches of foam sheeting. This is his business, and he has lots of vintage stuff, and will even make deals privately (as stated by bowtie427ss, and the seller himself). Very nice guy. Anyone who saw this auction and knows the sellers i.d.(I would post it here but don't want to violate any rules) I am here to tell you that this guy is top notch and actually cares if the customer is happy or not. This is panning out to be my most pleasant ebay experience to date. I plan on saving my pennies for awhile, taking a drive down to his warehouse and doing some shopping.

I recall being told that before, then my PL-518x came in a big ol box platter still on, headshell still on, counterbalance still on and it was all damaged and broke up....

good thing, it wasn't a mint TT and all I really wanted was the rubber feet.

Lets not even talk about my RT-707

good luck, hopefully it'll come in without any drama.

Thanks Jeff. As you already know I'm not going to Cleveland, but I'd love to hear some Pink Floyd through that set up. Pretty awesome looking to say the least. I'm sure it would be worth a little drive on a decent day. BTW, I'm still kicking myself in the butt for not being able to grab those 4333's when you sold em.:tears:

Welp, I just tracked the package and the message said "Your package has experienced an exception."
"Exception has been forwarded to the destination city"

What does this mean? It sure does'nt sound too good.

RJ

*edit*Ok, it's 0643, Tuesday morning and UPS tracking now says "out for delivery". So all is well.

Looks like I've got some cleaning to do. Other than that, a small scratch on the left side of the faceplate , and the ugly odd knob which I already knew about. Have'nt plugged her in yet. Tried to upload pics but I have to make them smaller first

I played my 700M/C all evening and I couldn't agree with you more. I see there are two pre outs on the C so I'm thinking about a second M.

Great to hear it. NOW LET'S SEE SOME PICS!!!!!

Pics in this thread, post #47. SoCal Sam has pics in this thread too, and a few other members who have 600/700 series. Had it going on about the same time as this one. Sam and I both made our scores within a day or two of each other.
