I ordered a MINT Yamaha RV-V850 from ebay, The sender used UPS to send the item to me. He didn’t have a box to send the item; he packed it very well with bubble wrap and sent it to UPS. Over there they packed the item (After the sender left) and they DROP the item. (That's what I suppose happened because he was well packed and the box wasn't smashed). Now I need to file a claim to UPS. But in the mean time, the receiver maybe I can fix it. There is a dent on the left side, this I have to wait because they will inspect the receiver before they will give me the money. BUT the major problem is the display. He doesn't work anymore. (When I started the receiver, there is nothing on the display). I used a flashlight and I put the receiver to Tuner, I was able to see the channel and feature thru the display. (I pressed on the memory and I was able to see the actual number). Now for my question: I cannot remove the cover for now; I can see that it seems to be a bulb behind the display. I looked on the internet; I was able to find information for the RX-V870 (Used a bulb) Mine should be the same (Seems to be the same receiver layout, Different year). Where do I get this part? I called Yamaha, They don't know. Do the one in the RX-V870 will fit? I guess I will need the service manual for the receiver. Not sure if UPS will take the receiver with them if they give me my money back...
