The stereo indicator lite is burned out in my SX-650.While the receiver is on, and in the FM-Stereo Mode, I get 30VAC or 15VDC when measured between the posts to which the lamp leads are wrapped. I used a Simpson type VOM. The replacement bulb, per the online manual, is 8V/50ma.
The feed for the lamps is out of an IC. Do I have a problem with the IC? Everything else on the unit is fine.
Thanks, Vince

Personally I think it's that high because there's no load on the circuit, let's see what others think, Dave. :scratch2:

Get a new meter if that's a big, ugly analog Simpson. Great for home wiring, or fooling with the car, crappy for electronics work.

RE: The voltage. There's a dropping resistor, so with no current flowing the voltage will read higher than normal, but the lamp is supposed to be 8V 50mA.
