Doug Gilmour of the Toronto Maple Leafs has announced his retirement after 20 yrs of pro hockey.
Gilmour ,who proved that 165 pounds and a big heart was a sufficient duo to play in the NHL.
Nicknamed *Killer*because someone commented he had eyes like Charles Manson,Gilmour was a tenacious player who brought the Leafs to the brink of a championship in '93.
A torn ACL and a lack of interest by the new GM of the Leafs caused Gilmour to announce retirement at the age of 40.He shall be missed.
