I have to sell my kenwood kr-6160. I wanted to use craigslist but I don't know what to ask for it. It is rated at 70wpc, real nice shape, 1973-75 vintage with wood case. Is $100 too much, too little? Anybody know what they get on evilbay?

They'll sell for $35 (low) to $95 (high), often falling in around $50 to $75.
Lately, the next model up, the 7100 and 7150, has been selling poorly- was pulling in $100-$125, now $40 to $75.
The 5700 and 5750 sells almost as well, as it's a smaller profile- my guess is because it is cheaper to ship, easier to place. Lately $40 to $65.
The Kenwood xx50's finish is rarer than the xx00s, but they still sell for the same often, rarely they'll fetch $5 to $15 more per piece.
Where do you live? If close by, I could get you $50 to $75 for it- my friend wants one of my 7100s, but the 6150 would work. Only thing is shipping could be a deal breaker. Anyhoo, if you sell it on the 'Bay, expect probably $50 to $65, possibly more. If you list it in Craigs, go for $100 to $125, and that'll leave you some room to barter.

The KR-6160 is a receiver. You might be thinking about the KA-6100.
Cleaned up and working well, $100 is not unreasonable.

echowars, you are right, I was thinking of the KA lineup, which is integrated amps.
I do not know pricing on the KR receivers- sorry. I follow the pricing of separates/integrarteds as that's my cuppa tea.
My apologies.
