I got a pair of these last weekend and am curious if anyone has used them in a small, high WAF, DIY box (i.e. design suggestions)? They are in great shape and are the famed "Tunnel Reflex" models. I've seen the podge tweak and the phase plugs. Not sure they are worth the time yet since they sound pretty damned good as is. Mark, your thoughts?

Lots of designs for these. Check the guy who sells the phase plugs, he has a box library for many drivers. Also check out the full-range driver forum for designs.

The phase plugs make a huge difference by the way. These are one of my favorite drivers for low level listening. No real deep bass, but the imaging and soundstage are great. I have them in a BLH of Fostex design.

Those suckers are FE103's. A pair of the following unusal horns would work very nicely, and help beef up bass response.

Man, that's a coincidence! I looked at that site today. Wackie design, but apparently with merit. :thmbsp:

Well, my plugs are on the way from Dave. Duct seal and wool felt have been installed. It's time to build something nice for these "antique" FE103a.

I bought a pair of Coral FR drivers from him, plus a pair of Sansui/Noble L-pads.
Real nice guy!!

Those spiral enclosures look pretty cool, but I wish there was a way to show that from the outside. The outsides are too plain for my tastes.

Maybe this sort of spiral TL is interesting enough?

I slipped mine in the Z boxes ToddM gave me. Mighty fine with the phase plugs and Podge in place!

Great drivers. Are actually F-103's (AlNiCo), FE-103's are the ferrite versions. Probably came from Realistic Solo 103's (60's thru 70's).

Hey Mark!

Would semi-gloss poly over bare wood be blasphemy?
