Just wondered what you guys thought of this arm. I am in the process of fixing up my Thorens with this arm. I haven't played it yet so I have no idea. I do like the way it looks though. :thmbsp:

I am a little intimidated with its wiring. :scratch2:

I've never used it but I agree with you on the looks department.
I've used the wooden MicroTrak arms, the Grado looks a bit more user friendly. The adjustable counter weight in the back is a big step up over adding weight to the headshell.
Wouldn't (wood-ent) a wood body Grado cart be cool in that.

My thoughts exactly. I just wanted to be sure it was worth going down that path.

Put a black on it and see how it goes.
Like I said, I've never used that tonearm, but you can be amazed at how well some old arms can perform. I believe, when that arm was built, Grado was building some pretty good carts and I think you are into the V15 era.
Just cuz she's old doesn't mean she can't dance.

I know little about Grado, other than the fact that they reside within miles of my where I live. Really should visit them.

But: That beauty looks like a 'monopivot'. If I am correct, there may be things to consider, such as damping fluid.

Not exactly sure what you mean? I am pretty sure it pivots on a bearing, full range, no fluid.

The Grado arms were pretty good.

excellent arm . Unipivot design. Joe Grado was interviewed for Audio Critic years ago and this arm is packed with innovative features.

If you ever decide to sell it, please let me know. I have been looking for one.
