I have a Technics SL23 turntable with a good-condition Empire cartridge that I've cleaned up and am probably going to sell. The top has the usual light scuffing from age/storage but the table holds its speed quite well. I may or may not re-cap it for good measure. Is there any way to help the scuffing too? How much would it be worth?

Maybe somewhere between $30-$ 40 would be my guess.

There's a post about using a buffer and car polish to remove the scuffing.
the SL-23 was a 1976 model, belt drive, semi-auto, controls inside the dustcover (not on front, outside the dustcover), standard (not "P") mount, sold for $140.
Resale, around $20 to $40, closer to $20 to $30 average.

I'm having speed control problems and am having difficulty sorting it out.
Thanks.
