i have a line on a pair of bozak ls-400a speakers, plus a mitsubishi cd player, pioneer equalizer, and a receiver, for $50.:scratch2:
i'd be buying it for the speakers. can anyone tell me how they sound, and what they're worth?
thanks.

You got model numbers for any of the equipment?
Bozak CS-400's sell for about $150. I am not familiar with the LS series.

madwing, if it's a 5-disc cartridge Mitsu CD player, keep me in mind. I've got one, without a cartridge for it.
You could sell the player and EQ and make $20 to $50, and get the speakers for $30 to $0.
I'd say give it a go. worst you'll do is re-sell the speakers if you don't like 'em, and break even, or even make some cash, all for a small amount of time invested.

There's a recent thread about an orphan Bozak that's an LS-400a IIRC.
The woofer apparently is quite good.
I'd definitely get them. The LS series is later than the most classic Bozaks, and at least some were designed using careful application of Thiele Small parameters to get much better results from a small box than the early attempts which essentially shoehorned a standard Bozak driver into a smaller sealed box. I passed along a very nice time aligned 8" three way to my brother. I think its an LS 300. The 400 might be the taller one with the curved tweeter array, but who knows. For the price, I'm sure you can find a home for it if you don't like it.
I'd certainly be curious...
Well, since I can't keep track of Bozak model numbers I went and looked inan Orion blue book, and there is no record of an LS 400a. Doesn't mean there isn't one, it might be a wrong model number or just one they overlooked. So no help there.

I emailed the guy yesterday minutes after it went up for sale. He did reply and said he would contact me today after some moring running around. It sounds like many people here and who knows wher else have been contacting this guy. It would be a nice score for someone. Well still have not heard from him today. Maybe someone made him a bigger offer than what he was asking. At this point I just someone here gets them. Let us know.

Sounds like a nice fellow that is not sure of what he really has. He also told me he would get in touch, that was soon after the posting. I offered him smaller speaks in trade, as he is moving to a smaller residence and wants to downsize. I think his wife wants smaller, as she wanted to know what size speakers I had to offer. WE shall see. I just hope he doesn't opt out for the Bose acoustimass soulless sound reproducers (my opinion only).

This guy emailed me that his son in law had decided to take the stuff. I hope someone here is the "Son in law". I'm sure the flood of emails probably made hem think twice about the sale.
