This is an update and addition to my previous review here (http://www.audiokarma.org/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=8961). Being not totally happy with the cables, I begged Omer at OZ Enterprise for a few others so that I can make some comparison. A few days later, I received two new sets: QED XTube 300 and Maple Audio Works Whisper. Here are my findings:
QED XTube 300: This cable is the pure copper version of its silver/copper hybrid brother, the XT-350. It has the same full-body in the midrange as the XT-350. The trade-off of 100% usage of copper is a reduction of apparent details. Not that it is lacking details, just does not have as much. The QED are just excellent all-rounder, their only weakness is a thinnest in the mid-bass section. In my system, this cable sounds best.
Maple Audio Works Whisper: The entry-level speaker cables from the same company that produces my Ambiance IC. This cable has the widest and deepest soundstage of all the cables. It presentation is laid-back with voices, highs throw forward and the intruments are separate from the voice at least a foot in height. It is a bit lean in the midrange but the bass control is phenomenal. It has the tightest and deepest bass signature of all the cables reviewed.
