Carl Mystic 01-30-2007, 07:58 PM He was a helluva singer back in the day. I'm no great fan of and incarnation of Deep Purple, but the version that featured Hughes & Coverdale vocals is okay with me, I loved how they traded vocals back & forth within a song. I like Trapeze quite well, have an excellent live LP (bootleg) of Trapaeze that was recorded in 1971, right around the time Hughes left to replace Glover & join the big time. Still a heck of a voice! I forgot about Glenn's stint with Iommi, but then so many singers haver had stints with Sabbath over the years. If it goes on long enough, Britney Spears will probably get a shot at the Sabbath singer slot. |
