Tonight I was listening to "Kind of Blue". I had some time to relax and wait for my wife to come home. This is one of those albums that I never get tired of.
I had never read the album information in the included booklet. There is a tribute written by saxophonist Robert Palmer. In part of it, he writes of a conversation he had with Duane Allman after a show at the Filmore East. Allman says his style of playing was greatly influenced by Miles Davis and Coltrane in Kind of Blue. Interesting that many hold Allman at that same level of esteem for his improvisational ability.
Interesting read. Check it out if you have the CD. I have had this album for a while and never took the opportunity to read this. Sad, it's not often that I can get my eyes to focus on letters that small.
Just thought I would share.
Thanks
Dan
