I went to a speaker clinic at a builder/rebuilders today. On a workbench they had a C20 preamp someone had given them. The reason they were given it? Faceplate end caps got lost so the glass broke, of course. Neglected in every possible way, but still worked perfect after a service! How do people do that!:uzi:

Nothing surprises me anymore. I did a top-notch restoration job on a '56 Fender Bassman Tweed Combo Amp one time. Used the best NOS tubes, alnico speakers, oil in paper caps, NOS cover and parts. Sold it to a guy who promised to give it the TLC it deserved. Guess what? He destroyed it in less than six months!:uzi:

Wow! Those are so cool looking and great sounding! Is there a
vintage police? 30 lashes at least!

Why should we expect some people to treat their hardware possessions with any more care and respect than their kids, their pets, their spouses or their fellow human beings........ Hmmmmmmmmm?

What a sad story, but I see this kind of disrespect for pocessions all the time. I've always been a neet freak and take pride in displaying my audio components safely, AND ONLY I TOUCH THEM.

Can't understand people who neglect care for their equipment whether they buy it new or used!! I'll take their money if they can afford to destroy their investment. I sold a Mint Condition Collector Kramer Bass Guitar to a bass player in our church,(for a bargain basement price) & even told him of the Value of this instrument & to take care of it with love!!
Within two months, knobs were broken, jacks were loose etc. When he showed it to me & asked where to get parts, I almost cried!! Gave him proper H-ll,then directions. Well it must of worked, 'cause he treats it with kid gloves now & even I have to beg to play it now & then for old times sake!!

At the Orlando hamfest two years ago some guy had an MC-60 and an MC-240. They were tubeless, completely rusted (not a scrap of chrome left on either) and scratched and dented up one side and down the other. Guy wanted $900 for each of 'em. UNREAL.
