A better album than her last two, more lively, more grit.Critics have likened it to Dusty In Memphis. I listened twice last nite and found it to be very soulfull

I think it is good. To me though, I think her first solo album better demonstrated her raw talent. It will probably always be in my go-to list of music.

It is still great and will probably grow on me. I will pop it in after Piano Jazz is over.

What a coincidence. Just finished my first runthrough. I like it! Better than her second.

I checked YourMusic. They're not stocking it yet. Got mine at work. $11 with my discount.:thmbsp:

Right now I'm listening to Amos Lee's new album. Great!

I pre-ordered and got it for $9 something and shipping. Definitely like this one better than her last one. Shows more dimension in her talents.

Critics likened it to "Dusty in Memphis." Wow, that's high praise. I'm glad she's not just one of the "enchanting songbirds" they are currently marketing to us.

i got the LP yesterday and I liked it,,mainly as its different than the music I am used to delving in...but there is a tad of sameness..but i like how it sounds, and she has a very easy to listen voice...

Just came in the mail yesterday so it was played last night although I didn't get a chance to sit down and enjoy. Did like what little I heard while cooking dinner though.

I still like her first effort the best but it all sounds similar...and I'm thankful. As yet it's not available at "your music" unless it is today.

For anyone who is interested, Norah Jones is performing "live" at 11:15am Pacific on radio station KCRW's "Morning Becomes Ecelectic" program. I think you can listen to KCRW online if you're out of the area. Here's the link to today's Norah Jones feature.

I've enjoyed what I've heard of Norah Jones, I'll need to check out one of her cds from the library--maybe they'll have the new one, too.

Would most of those be in the pop and country genres?

I hadn't thought of this, but this is the place to ask:

What DOES she mean by, "I don't know why I didn't come."

i haven't heard it yet but i hope it's better than her second album which was too much country for me. loved her first one.

SJ, if the second was too country you probably won't like her album under The Little Willies moniker. It arrived last week and is full of Norah but more twangy sounding. Still good with me though.

I think Lee Alexander (her beau) has influenced her music. He's got a country slant to him that I like. IMHO she'll get more career mileage from going pop/country than straight jazz.

You're probably correct there. Doesn't matter to me, I enjoy most all of her music.

I like the new album. This was after reading a lot of negative reviews of it. It's definitely better than the 2nd album. I just wish I had a better setup.

Can anyone else verify a high frequency distortion of sorts on Track 8 (My Dear Country) roughly 2:15 into the song at the start of about a 20 second instrumental medley?

I didn't notice anything. I'll have to give it another listen later on.
