There was a very cool Science report on this evening's McNeil Lehrer Newshour. It's available as an audio download at: http://www.pbs.org/newshour/science/ (http://www.pbs.org/newshour/science/)
Here's the summary:

Studying how the brain processes music allows researchers to better understand how the human brain evolved, and how different parts of the brain communicate with each other, according to cognitive neuroscientist and former record producer Daniel Levitin. (2.5.07)

My favorite part of the interview is when Levitin illustrates how Stevie Wonder's use of non-predictive percussion in Superstition messes with people's anticipation of the next notes. :music: Levitin produced Stevie Wonder recordings before he became a neuroscientist.
