has anybody seen the current issue of Mojo? has a great article about my personal all time fave rock band, Joy Division, news about the upcoming film, and the giveaway CD 'inspired' by the music of JD is one of the best such magazine compilations i have come across in some time.

the centerpiece of the compilation is the cut by Susanna and the Magical Orchestra, a cover of "Love Will Tear Us Apart" by JD

there is also a sublime cut by Nina Simone "Little Girl Blue"

JD obsessives take note...

There is a recent new order documentary out there and they certainlydelve into Joy Division stuff. Interestingly, they really don't give Curtis much respect or time honored gratitude.

Mojo is interesting. Every genre that they report and publish about becomes popular once again. I'd say, that for a bunch of Chip Butty eatin' mofo's, they have a good formulae goin' on.

They have:
- increased the value of my LP collection (yay!)
- decreased the availability of said LPs whilst diggin' (boo!)

Anyhow, thanks for the heads up. I will go and pick up this issue. I've enjoyed their compilation CDs whenever they come with an issue.

i've picked up many NO records over the years in 12" single format, 33 1/3 and 45 rpm, LP's and etc, but never, ever have i come across a JD lp, and don't think i haven't tried. never have seen one.

and no, i'm not collecting JD contemporaries' 7"ers.

It's true that you just don't see JD LPs out there anymore - although I did find a copy of Closer (minus the LP itself) at a GW recently.

Cheers :)

Their first album is a must own, if you like rock music.

Joy Division albums are easy to source. Factory are foreign pressings and factus means the U.S. pressing.

They were made all over the place and I have a portugeese pressing/english/american/italian/holland/spain/ of their 3 albums. The only tough one to source is the Still album in cloth.
