Hi,
Looking at various Mac amps, MC7150, MC150, MC162, MC7200, or MC7270(maybe missing a few), and their various DC or AT configurations. I was looking for any thoughts to the differences. It seems the little I have found here and elsewhere, there are 2 camps on which is better performance and sound wise. Just looking for any current thoughts on each. I have a C712 Preamp I will use with it. Seems like a lot of MC162's show up.

Lastly, is there any thinking on the older group of amps, just before the one I listed above 2155, 2205, etc ? I am really lost on the speed comments on this generation of amps ? I have seen and heard comments on these amps being "slow" when used with digital sources. Is this a real issue, and better to stick to the amps I listed initially?

Thanks,

Wayne

Wayne, you may want to consider going off this forum for additional research on DC design and benefits. Also, keep in mind that McIntosh makes both autoformer and DC design and therefore I believe you have to keep the comparison Mac to Mac to be meaningful.
