You're not going to adjust the bias. You need to measure the offset like this:

Once on a DBT, check from one of the bias test points to ground. This will yield your DC offset, and point you in the right direction.

Currently building a simple tube preamp, still have all my old gear, pls a few additions. Im now using a Sumiko EVO III MC Cartridge with a hot wired Denon AU320 MC Transformer. I tried the bryston's but I still love tubes so they're on the auction block. Trying to trade them for a different preamp. I'll probably end up keeping my hafler because I want to rebuild it and upgrade it.

What issue? The one with tonearm doesn't go down as it should? If yes, no I didn't.

Thanks for the reply.
Yes that was the issue - another question. When you are playing a record is your tone arm parallel to the surface of the record as recommended in the owners manual. I have had this TT since the 1980's and like yourself was doing some maintenance and had these problems pop up. I am tempted to get into the guts of thing an see if I can correct these issues.

Second part of the previous comment.
I am no technician and right now I can still listen to my vinyl, so why upset the apple cart and linear tracking TT are not cheap to come by if you find one at all.
NB Do you still have and are using your LT-30

Still breaking in the Focal 860's but now have a Technics SL 1200 GAE and a French Receiver Micromega M150 kand a SVS subwoofer
What do I have to do to STOP getting e-mails every time I click on a thread/link here????
In 'preferences' EVERY alert box is UN-CHECKED.
Am I missing something, somewhere?

The first thing i'd do is click on the 'Forums' down arrow in the top LH corner. Then click on the 'Watched ' down arrow and go into both 'Watched threads' and 'Watched forums'. Check if any results appear. And if so, go to the 'Manage watched tab' on the RH side - click the down arrow and disable email notifications. Then click on the option 'Stop watching...'. See if that resolves the issue.
Hello. I understand you may have vast knowledge of Aragon equipment. Hoping you be able to help. Here is my post: "Needing the Ohm value of the Volume pot of my Aragon 24k. It is NOT the Penny Giles, but the "other" original. It is scratchy and cuts out and cannot be lubricated. I would replace it if I had the schematics or if I knew the value or suitable replacement."

Should be a 25k pot. You can install a new 20k Log Alps Blue in its place.
Hi, Jan. The attached files might be of some help.

Sean (HalfApt) did share a 2002 service manual with me, but I can't seem to find a copy right now. I believe he's still on AK, and so may be able to respond.

Good luck!

Dear Bob, thanks a lot for this outstanding information! The colorized schematic will help me find my way through the electronic parts an voltage values. I will try to get in contact with Sean though an see if I can get a foll copy as well. Thank you!

Best regards
Jan
Really appreciate the info you posted on JSG Audio and the Prophile speakers. I dealt with Judd for years but never really paid that kind of attention to models and whatever. Purchased a (what I think are Model 3's) recently.... perfect no, but amazing for what they are. I also appreciate the legacy of Judd and knowing these were part of that.
Cheers,
Phil
While joining too late to interact with birchoak, his use of a scene from my favorite Johnny Quest episode speaks volumes about his character.
After reading his posts on the Kenwood KR-6160, I will likely buy one in his honor.
Hello AK, I am just introducing myself and will undoubtedly have upcoming questions regarding my newly acquired Marantz 2270.....if I can figure out how to actually start/find a current thread on issues therein ....
