This is an extremely rare record. The SABA label (Schwarzwälder Apparate Bau Anstalt) existed from 1958 to 1968 and turned then into the famous MPS (Musik Produktionen Schwarzwald) label. > Mouzon, Peterson, Duke etc.

This is # 15039, which means that it is the 39th release of SABA.

I listened to Schumann´s 2nd Symphonie from my new CD last night.

I enjoyed it, but it didn´t stand out to me as anything special. Maybe it was just my mood at the time?

I am now listening to his 4th and REALLY liking it :)

edit: Okay, his 4th is AWESOME :) I would love to see it performed live!

edit 2: I´m re listening to his 2nd now, and enjoying it MUCH more! I was stressed out last night.

Benjamin Britten

Simple Symphony

"Benjamin Britten wrote his Simple Symphony in 1934 when he was 21, basing it on compositions which he had sketched between the ages of 9 and 12 as a highly musical schoolboy.

The Simple Symphony is a most happy example of the wealth of ideas and the fertile productivity of this brilliant British composer. A delight in experiment and a profound understanding of counterpoint are here combined with natural, untroubled music making."

Dirigent: Christoph Sepp
