My favourite Akai unit was a black faced AT-2650 tuner. It sounded great, and looked absolutely gorgeous!

I have an Akai AM-A402. Its broken right now but something seems special about it. or at least the older ones? as far as 80s products go i like this one alot.

im absolutely most interested in the fact that it has a DC servo amp? is this anything like infinity's servo controlled subwoofers?

Got today this AA-910 in mint condition, recapped and serviced.

Warning: These supposed 14W RMS are very, very fat and punchy, yet detailed and musical.
A must have. The building quality is wonderful. 10.5 KG, quite heavy for it's power, fine tone control for the treble and bass knobs,all the controls metal made, it's got a striking look... I'm in love with this one.
And the best thing: it came with 4 AKM-003 plugs, very hard to find.

I already own a AA-8030, which i really enjoy, on a Sansui SP-50, must have bitten me, got the Akai bug now,
especially for the AA-9xx and AS- Series.

I have an Akai GX-255 that I picked up in the 90s. Worked well the last time I used it a few years ago. Still hooked up to my main system.

AKAI 4000 DS. Works and sounds great. Couple up with 3M scotch 207 tape and you just can't go wrong. My veneer needed replacement as you can see.

I have an Akai AA-R51 with a broken autotuner, supposedly scans and seeks stations but it must be common for them to break as several I have seen on ebay are the same. I use it as an integrated amp and it works very well in that regard.
Sounds very nice.

I picked up this Akai AM-2400 intergrated amp for $5.00. It took some cleaning but it has served me well over the past couple of years. I’ve had it paired with some baby Advent IIs and more recently with a pair of Rectilinear XIs. I recently moved a Crown set up home and the Staight line stuff out performs the Akai. Except for use with headphones. The AM-2400 is going into my bedroom. I love my $5.00 Akai!!

I have these Akai low-end things, which were salvaged from trash. I also had AP-Q60 turntable which was sold. Over 20 years ago I had CD-32 which stopped reading discs and the case was converted to a preamp...
