Streaming is the best thing ever to prolong my stylus life. 2 records have been played in the past year since I started streaming with zero interest in playing anymore.
My parents had that exact same fridge. They bought it brand new in 1948 and it was still working when their house got sold 50 years later. To my knowledge it had never been worked on.
Agreed; I drove by some of the most beautiful scenery in New England including a snow covered Mt. Washington. As beautiful as it all was the totality was hands down the star of the show that day.
I had to laugh when I read this as that's exactly how I felt about mine. The only better sound they make is when the car door of their new owner closes and they head off into the sunset never to be heard from again. Strangely enough I've read comments by some owners that think they sound great...
Yes; everything was removed and It's an insulated, waterproof steel box. Unless someone really looks closely it's tough to tell it started and lived most it's life as a fridge.
Old fridges can also be put to use for record storage. I found one that was the same size as a window that used to be in my listening room. An Insulated steel waterproof box that fit the opening closely and I just added the shelves for the records. It's been there for probably 15 years now. I...
During my long drive back from seeing totality I was thinking just how much those last few percent matter. Very much like they do in this hobby to make or break a great system.
Shortly after George died in 2013 one of his roadies was selling mc2300 side rails from one of those racks. Thankfully I was able to get a pair for one of my mc2500's that was minus it's side rails.
I tried using the 3500's woofers in a much larger cabinet with an advent tweeter as a simple 2 way speaker. They were better than original 3500s as that wouldn't take much. It was a fun experiment but those speakers were still lacking overall.
I agree with painttoad; don't waste your time trying...
Glaucoma here to. I've often thought of doing the pot thing to help lower my pressure but I just can't stand the way it makes me feel. I have 12 and 18 with drops.
Talking to my retina specialist I've been assured that yes weed does help in lowering the IOC pressure.
Get a gas powered unit with as much gpm as you can afford or care to spend. Using those little electric pressure washers is an exercise in frustration. They take forever to do a small spot and even then it's done poorly. By the looks of your siding under the eaves it appears your entire house...
Cool pics; I thought it was quite a sight to see those 2 rolling stacks of Mac at a George Jones show many years ago. Why was I the only person during the entire show to take a pic of them? No one else cared a single bit about them until some dark clouds appeared and then there was some real...
I drove several hours to reach totality in Northern NH. Definitely one of the coolest things I've ever seen. When totality hit it was like someone hit a switch to complete darkness instantly on a bright sunny day.
They're a necessary evil and when I had to have them for work every one of them would do stupid phone things while in my pocket. Now that I'm retired the phone only comes with me when I need it for gps.
