It's in Virginia. My fear is the cost of repair and the availability of parts.

I spoke to the owner yesterday. Appears that the unit was dropped causing cracked circuit boards and probably other damage. I think that this might be more of a project than I want.

Yes, definitely at least check that there is a cap. I opened mine to find the inside full of confetti. At closer inspection , realized that the confetti was what was left of the cap. A little too generous withe volume me thinks.
