    Technics SA-R530 - No sound

Invariably to the transistors on the heatsink next to power ic… usually +15v -15v and a +5V regs there… check them on each side of power ic… often dry joints lurk around them

Pin 3 should be 0v… as should be 6 pin 18 should be -13 v or so after 4 sec no voltage at pin 10… check -15V regulator circuit

Yeah this’ll be the +15V rail Check joints around the regulators and associated components…. Also connector packs from main to front board.

I know some of the date codes (most of them 1984 - can easily see the board type through vents in top - just look next to last pin on SVI

Technics SU-G50 - Cuts out at higher volumes

Yeah could definitely be iffy protect circuit (this is in the SVI - the 3200 series have voltage amp, power amp and protection/thump-dethump/relay drive) these are definitely unobtanium…. What impedance are the speaker(s) - it may be getting too hot.

Hehe niiice I’ve had 2 that have had relay issues (lights stable no click) one was dry joints on coil side of relay, other was a break in the relay coil wire to its terminal… As the jolt (though small) as the relay turns on takes effect on the joints over the years…. Atm have an X90 doing this...
