MR 71 Question

I have an immaculate MR 71 that has been serviced, new RCA's and dual gang pot in the rear. Trouble is, when I turn the tuning dial I get a loud squawk as the pointer crosses stations. My buddy has on in not as good a condition that doesnt do it. Im told this is a fairly common problem but can anyone point me right as to what may be required to repair it?

A tiny bit of deoxit on the bearing carefully applied on the tuning capacitor bearing (be careful not to bend the plates or upset them in any way). This squawk is from dry bearings in the tuning capacitor. It is especially prone to happening when a tuner spends long periods of time sitting on one station. Exercise all pots and switches regularly, and tune the dial across the band regularly, reduces this issue vastly.
