Hi, this is my first post on here!
Picked up today for free a Technics SL-PG360a CD Player knowing it didn’t work, thought I had nothing to lose by grabbing it and see if it can come back to life.
Issue is it won’t read or play discs. On opening it up and putting a disc in it won’t spin most of the time. On the odd occasion it will try and spin but slowly but slows down and stops after a few seconds.
Laser moves back and forth slightly and moves up and down trying to read discs and laser is shining red so possibly it is ok?
Leaning towards a bad spindle motor or possibly the IC controlling it? Don’t have a multimeter to test at the moment unfortunately.
Any ideas would be appreciated.
