Research Deoxit on this forum. Plenty of good info on how to clean the pots and switches. Can be done pretty easily with little mechanical knowledge.

    G-22000 found me.

Nice! does anybody know why they had two different knob styles on these? The two big knobs, the knurling is different, and the knob diameter is slightly smaller? I know the 801/901 euro versions had smaller knobs, but never seen the smaller versions on the big G series.

    Quad II C4/C6 capacitor questions

I'm not sure if that would work or not. Reluctantly, I did end up ordering the kit off of ebay. It's something I've never done before, I always get my stuff from Digikey or mouser...but i seriously could not find the proper resistors. I guess we will see how this goes.

    Quad II C4/C6 capacitor questions

I was thinking that exactly, just two capacitors in series. I appreciate the offer, but i don't see the need to re-stuff them. They aren't in the open, and unless taken apart, it won't be seen. What are your thoughts on the rebuild kits on Ebay? I'm also finding it hard to locate 3w+ megaohm...

    Quad II C4/C6 capacitor questions

Looking to finally dive into the set of Quad amps that i picked up years ago. Most of it seems pretty straightforward, I'm going to undo a homemade solid state rectifier and replace all resistors and capacitors, along with some wiring updates. The question I have is on C4/C6. The original case...

    G-33000

Haha yea.. my wife and brother were pretty pissed. There wasn't any room in there. I'm just glad you were able to get it back. I'bmve contemplated getting rid of mine, but your story keeps reminding me not to!

    G-33000

Yours actually came from Duluth, MN. Guy bought it new as well. It was hooked up to four Bose 901's and a pioneer turntable. I also got a pioneer cassette deck and a couple other things. All packed into a Honda civic with 3 people!

    G-33000

I found mine somewhat local.. guy only sent one photo, he had it in a custom shelf from new. It was 3 hrs away. His son actually convinced him to sell it. I get flack all the time saying "you could sell it and buy better gear".. nope. Not going anywhere.

KEF Reference 4.2 - Towers that Sing and Glow

I was able to find one at a dealer called Kemela contemporary audio in Atlanta Georgia. At the time he had two, and like an idiot I didn't buy both as he wanted a couple hundred for just one. Last time I contacted him he didn't have any. If by chance you want to part with a spare (if you find...

Sansui G3300 amp protection light won't shut off

It might be simply hooked up wrong as well. But Kev is a master at these.. and is absolutely correct when he says that everything is replaceable.

Is something wrong with my ears?OR did I make a mistake in my work?

Capacitors take awhile to settle, or burn in. Also make sure everything is ok on your turntable, the slightest incorrect setting can really screw with the sound. I'm assuming you've listened to several different albums as well?

    Hot transistors!

Uffda, this is from 2012. Yea this thing is long gone. I never did figure it out, I honestly lost interest... but I did learn a lot. First and foremost, do NOT replace so many components at once! Also, a quad that isn't really easy to work on is definitely not one of the first few things a...

    Sansui 7000-should I??

Nice. Not a fan of changing colors, but to each their own. I haven't picked it up yet, guy still has it. The shop is over an hour away. My kids don't need anything, my 5yo has an Eight and my 7yo has an AU-999...

    Sansui 7000-should I??

I definitely have my fair share of direct coupled amps. My 33k has the option to cap couple, but I've never used it. Honestly it would just be to add to the collection. I already have an eight, and a host of others.

    Sansui 7000-should I??

Probably gonna regret this question, and I need another Sansui receiver like I need a hole in the head, but I found one locally for a couple hundred bucks. Cosmetically and sonically it has no issues.. seems fairly rare as far as receivers go. Not a TON of stuff out there... so...should I?
