DIY Tannoy build for the basement

Hi Its been a while since I have been around but thought I would add some photos of a project I completed recently. I got my hands on some Tannoy DC's and with the help of a woodworking friend made a pair of Tannoy's based around the NFM6 II. The crossovers where included (1667). In the rush to...

    HVAC outside condenser unit

ETLS knows his stuff. Great advice for anyone reading this thread. If I could add just a few things..for anyone having a new "A coil" installed upstream of the furnace make sure you have the contractors install it as high as possible before any take offs and have them make an access door (out of...

    Magnat goodness!

They are somewhat rare in North America but thats not to say anything about the sound or value of them as some of the best speakers have been produced in Europe. We have many brands of speakers made in Canada that some have never heard of such as Paradigm, Totem, PSB, Dahlquist.... that sound...

Pictures of your computer set ups

Great thread and nice pics so far. That Mac is awesome. We spend a lot of time on the main floor instead of being in the basement after having our baby a year ago so I have been working on a computer setup for the main floor.

    e-Cigarettes - Stop Smoking!

Hi Rick. Your question is too hard to quickly answer as there are so many options to vaping. Im going on 2 years and still learning. I started by spending tons of time on the ECF.com forum and learning about the basics. I grabbed an EGO starter kit and since have accumulated around 8 mods. I...

DAC > USB to SPDIF needed?

The Nuforce U192S usb/spdif converter could be one to look at without spending a lot of money.

DAC > USB to SPDIF needed?

Unfortunately Mac only outputs max 24 96 via optical. I have been toying with the idea of a converter as well going from an iMac to an Audioengine D1. Not sure the extra cost would be sufficient enough as of yet.

    e-Cigarettes - Stop Smoking!

Ya I know. They were good for an hour 2 max for me, but at that time it was an extension of my hand trying to quit the smokes.

    e-Cigarettes - Stop Smoking!

Ive been smoke free now since trying them. I love them. In the last 2 weeks I have had 3 deliveries including new juices, cartos, clearos, tanks, Ego C Twists. Its sure is a steep learning curve but once you get the hang of it, it becomes more addictive than smoking. :D Like forgetting to...

    Another new to Fisher

I was lucky to bring home a very well kept Fisher 495 on the weekend from a buddies place. His parents are moving and downsizing. There is more gear hiding in boxes tucked away and will wait patiently for those to appear. After trying to find out more about this unit I realize (since...

So at a friends house tonight and after talking a bit about music he says he has some stuff for the dumps. I quickly jump in and say I want first dibs. :D I left with a Fisher 495 (MINT), an AKAI VP7300U VHS player (works and looks MINT) and a 7300US Colour TV Tuner Adapter. I cant...

    DLP projector Recommendation

+1 for the HD20. I bought this model new at $1100. It got rave reviews as it was one, if not the first 1080p projectors that was affordable. Going on 3 years still have original bulb. Highly recommended at that price.
