V-Moda VIP Faders (hi-fi ear protectors) review by Dale

The Etymotics come in their small or normal size. I use the small one, still uncomfortable :( Girlfriend feels the same way.. Maybe we are freaks though.

nope, the room is pretty lame. I'm just gonna wait until I save up some more money and maybe move to another room.. I appreciate the suggestions though.

*adds it to the list* Great, now I have no idea what I'm doing! :P on either side of my desk? I agree on the area being troubling.. Maybe I should just get the cheap pioneers for 50 bucks and call it the best I can do within this area, without getting into expensive near field monitors all...

Thanks for the info! I assume 50 wpc would be fine for both the pioneers and the BA's? Hmm.. Well, damn. I kind of got myself really into the idea of the BA's, but I guess I will keep the Pioneer's in mind too. I like the idea of vintage, but I like the Pioneer's too. I'm quite torn...

I'm going to go listen to boston acoustics and a luxman receiver.. If I like em, I'll try to buy them. The guy has several other sets of speakers I can try out too! We will see how it goes. I know the space isn't great for them.. but, the space isn't great for most speakers and I honestly don't...

well, so did etymotic. They use the same tips as their IEM's :) Which is great for isolation.. terrible for comfort with small canals. I look forward to trying a pair of these sometime soon!

hah! I was looking on craigslist last night.. I actually saw all of those links, and really thought about the Bostons.. However, I cannot run those on that cheap little amp, I don't think. I'll have to find something else!

Lol, its not a headphone question :P I am just going to use my odac (which is inside my headphone amp) as my dac. It should work great, I'm just not completely sure about the amp and speakers and the amount of room I have. Maybe I would be better off with near field or self powered in this price...

    T amps and headphones?

I will compare mine to my current favorite headphone amp, the Objective 2. I use custom, limba, grado-esque headphones with magnum drivers from symphones

I would suggest trying Beyer velour pads with them

Gonna use my ODAC within my O2 headphone amplifier as a source, run that to the Dayton DTA-100a to the Pioneer SP-BS41-LR Seem like a decent first setup? Here is my space, I know it's a bit small for these speakers, but I don't really want to downsize and I don't think I want near field...
