    Early EPI yard sale score

If they are 100's with such low numbers, they would date to 1969. Living in Newburyport, a mile from the old EPI factory, I've seen a variety of early speakers, including a few little 50s with plywood cabinets - no veneer. About 35 years ago, I recall a wooden nameplate on a pair of EPI's...

    1940s homemade w/baffle ?

Recently found a vintage home built cabinet which is 1 1/2 cu ft., 6" cut out for a driver. It has a dozen uniform 1/4" holes drilled in the lower portion, making it a vented type of loudspeaker. What's got me confused is, there is a baffle running diagonally which completely separates the...

Panasonic Modern Phono model # ?

Trying to find the model number of a circa 1965 Panasonic phono/radio unit. It was the larger modern design which was the predecessor to the smaller late 60's model SE-1217. Apparently it won several design awards in 1965. Here's the later 1217 which was circa 1968...

    Sabbath - Female cover band

After 45 years, the legacy of a band is bound to take new directions. Here these gals seem to have substituted the A for an I and added the letter C to the Sabbath name... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HtLuGhJV5pQ Like Brown Out's covers, the focus on the early period, 1970-75.

    U.S. Made cassette players ?

Looking for a list of makers of portable cassette players which were built in the States. I would imagine most will be in the 1965-68 era since Japan production dominated the market very quickly in the late 60s.

Last of the mini reel portables ?

Those 3" open reel portables of the '60s didn't stand a chance with the advent of 8-track & cassette recorders which dominated the market by 1968-9. My question is; when were the last mass market open 3" reel portables sold ? Here is a pretty neat U.S. made GE M8080, circa 1967...

    Guess that vintage speaker

The KLH models 14 & 14B and the 15 & 19 are dual driver speakers. The pair look like the model 11 or the model 21 extension speaker or even the model 50, which were all single driver units. All of these KLH's would be 14 inches tall.

    Childhood Buy #1

What was that first audio purchase ? Not something handed down, but rather something bought. mine was in 1971 at ten years old for 25 cents at a yard sale... a circa mid 50's Telefunken reel to reel portable tape player/recorder. I'd never seen anything like it...I was mesmerized. It may have...
