If it were me, I would get one of the paints designed to address rust, like Rustoleum (TM) that have both a component to address rust stabilization and rust prevention and paint a bead of it around the junction between the cone and the support.
There are people “out there” still looking for help keeping these tables working and AK’s deep history is a resource. Some of those folks even say “thank you” with a “like” when they find something helpful. I get a kick out of some of these thread revivals.
First off, “It’s a hobby.” There’s no wrong way to do it. At one point in my life I was where you are, but now at 75, I’m down to two and a half systems. Can’t decide whether to make that two or three. As long as you are having fun, all is good.

If the tweeters are working, refoam the woofers (or have them refoamed) and you are good to go. Snells are nice speakers and will mate well with the HK385i.
That’s looking very nice. Area rug/ carpet will be a high priority. Do you really want/need your speakers backed up into the corners? The record cabinet is great.
I understand she was taking a stand. Most of us have a line, although we may not know exactly where it is. Break into my house at night, and you’re dead right there—no discussion. But for stuff…I’m not sure.
For clarity, I didn’t mean “how is she able to sleep,” rather how well does she sleep knowing she took a person’s life for probably less than $50 worth of merchandise.
