The seller told me up front that the amp makes a noise when first powered up for a split second, he took it in and the tech told him it might have something to do with the caps powering up initially but should not be a problem. Seller said other than that amp works like it should.:dunno: Also...

Thanks goodolpg! Well iam going to look at the 4420 tomorrow the guy is going to demo it for me. ive never owned a separate amp before anything i should look for or specific questions to ask.He said it was checked out a couple of years ago and found no problems and there are no problems now.

I ended up replacing the foam on both speakers anyway since i had them out. Was wondering if you could tell me what caps to use in replacing the old ones with. dont know anything about that, but i do no how to solder.

Which one should i get, sanyo is in excellent shape and so is 850. The 850 is 450.00 and the sanyo is 300.00

sounds like the initial cost and expense to update would outweigh the benefits 750.00 for the amp and more for a tech to update:eek: I think i will go with Blue Shadows advice and just get a Crown amp set it and forget it!

Good idea spark1! The guy that has the amp says it works fine he has owned it for 5 years but does not use it, says he just want to get rid of it too much vintage gear but for 700 bucks should be top notch i would think.
