    Selector Switch Help 2245

I tried pushing some dielectric grease into the gap where the ball bearing rides up and down over the "waffle" part of the switch. It helped but I'm not sure if that would be enough relief for your situation. I wonder if a smaller ball bearing could be substituted for the stock original?

    Model 20 tuner

I stayed with the clear faceplate. The unilluminated pointer was too hard to see behind that grey plexi especially in the daytime. I sold the 20 early this year and I'm now selling a 120 I picked up back in 2021. My current living situation is terrible for FM reception so I tend to turn them...

    The History Of Marantz

I've watched several of his videos and he rubs me the wrong way....big time. He reminds me of a used car salesman shouting at me. The thing that cracks me up the most is when he puts words into his script that he can't pronounce correctly.

    250M meters out

Just curious...is this a 110v version or 100v Japanese version OR an adjustable multivolt version?

I must be stupid, but I cannot find the link to begin a new Conversation. Where is it located or is it called something new now?

Curious what that black ring around the volume knob is.

You need metric sized M4-.70x25 for the wood case. Finally....a question that even I can answer! ;-)

    Marantz Model 3300 Center Channel

Similar experience here. My first "real" stereo was a Sony STR-6055 and it also featured a Center Channel output. Of course, in 1972 when I bought it (lawn mowing income!), there weren't many subs on the market (Janis, anyone?) so I believe it was a holdover from the days of speaker systems that...

    Marantz Model 3300 Center Channel

I completely agree with you. I haven't rotated my 3300 into my current system yet. I had hopes of using the Center Output until I discovered that it had no output until the amp was routed through the switching circuit. Currently, I'm feeding the Pre Outs of my 2245 into a Y-splitter to gain...

    Marantz Model 3300 Center Channel

Only if you are feeding the output of your amp back into the switching function of the 3300.

Speaker wire / cable for 70's Marantz receivers

I used these with my 2275 and they worked out well. The only mod I made was putting clear heatshrink around the body of the adapter as I wasn't sure how conductive that silver/aluminum finish might be. I thought about the pin-type adapters but I preferred the "bite" that the woven wire gives...

    22XX Wood case

Speaking of Asaalah, has anybody heard from him lately? I emailed him a few days ago but no answer yet. I'm hoping it's not health issues, but you never know.

    22XX Wood case

I didn't really answer your question but you DID bring up something that I've thought of over the years. Heat is always the enemy of electronics and if I had an amp or receiver that ran hot all the time, I'd probably leave the metal case off......OR try to figure out why it's running hot! ;-)

    22XX Wood case

It's a great "simple" question, Tom. Don't know if anybody knows for sure, but my thinking is a bit split on this. I'd much prefer to let the chassis and all the hot parts breathe easier by removing the metal case. But, I'm also concerned about stray RFI getting into the tuner sections when the...

    Thank you Tom "Catrafter" Williams

Tom spent an inordinate amount of time helping me with some tuner issues and even sent me some boards to help solve my issues. I consider myself blessed to have folks like Tom and LeeStereo here on AK. Tom, you will be missed but I hope you continue to post and help folks like me. Dave

    Marantz 2270 Engraved Survey

I spotted a silver engraved 2270 at a local dealer. I'll see if they will pull it off the shelf and let me photograph the front and back.
