    Ovation Acoustic

I have the same problem with my Celeb and Balladeer. The roundback isn't very friendly to my middle-aged roundfront lol. I suppose I could go to the gym... or better yet - buy another guitar! A strap does work wonders, though.

    Lets see all them Amplifiers!

Stay away from the CC series (AC30CC2 - AC30CC2X) They're only one channel with no top boost and they have issues with the Rectifier tube circuit. The one you want is the AC30C2X (Like mine!).. 2 Channels - Top Boost - Tone Cut and Celestion Alnico Blue Speakers. The AC30C2 is identical...

    Lets see all them Amplifiers!

Got lucky on that one too.. The VBM-1 I was watching on ebay is bid up to $142 and there's still 8 hours left. ...and of course I DO have a Burns Brian May Red Special to go with it.

    Lets see all them Amplifiers!

Wooo! I just scored one.. Guitar Center (facepalm) online used for $99. While buying anything at Guitar Center (facepalm) new is right up there with root canal, I've had really really good luck with their used gear.

    Lets see all them Amplifiers!

No. Completely different circuitry. The VBM-1 is modeled after Brian May's "Deacy" amp (Pronounce that: "DEE-KEE") that was built for him by John Deacon out of junk parts found in a dumpster. The VBM-1 is usual in that it can be used as an amp as well as an effects pedal by patching the top...

Those are GREAT. I've been shopping for a VBM-1 for a while now.

    Help ID Guitar Speaker

What color was it and what kind of amp was it in? Celestion Alnico Gold maybe? Those have binding posts.

    Yamaha Electric Grand Piano

I wanted one of those so bad in the 80's. The other Big Dog back then was the Helpenstill Roadmaster.

    Lets see all them Amplifiers!

Yes! The vibrato is legendary. It operates on a phase-in/phase-out principle instead of a wom wom wom volume thing like Fender.

    Lets see all them Amplifiers!

Here's a cool find I picked up in town a few months ago. It had been in storage since 1969. Magnatoneamps.com liked it so well they're using it as the primo example of an MP5 on their website. http://www.magnatoneamps.com/MP5.html

Pickup recommendations for a MIM Telecaster

Stick a Seymour Duncan JB Mini Humbucker at the bridge SJBJ-1b JB Jr. And a Seymour Duncan "Li'l 59" at the neck SL59-1n Switch to split the coils.. reverse phase.. Wire however you like. These are GREAT.

    Akai "mini"

I sold an Aiwa S50 mini receiver at auction a few months ago. It fetched over $300. A testament to vintage Japanese Minis.

    Anyone heard of C&M?

You could send a photo of it to C&M here and ask if its one of theirs.

    Anyone heard of C&M?

Possibly a house brand of C&M Music Center. They have a bunch of locations through the South. http://www.musiccenter.net/ ABC Music Center out here in Los Angeles used to do the same thing. Assemble cabs and brand them with their own name.

    Dual 731Q Auto function quit.

This is a typical problem with Dual. I had the same problem. The issue should be a broken/deteriorated cam/lever. Most audio repair shops who know what they're doing can make you a new part as they did mine. Total cost was $65 or something like that.

    Purchased an SX EG6

Hmm.. quite possible. I haven't tried a Chinese Epiphone so they could be right. I know the older Peerless-Korean made Sheratons were pretty sweet - In fact - I have one lol. Its very very close my Gibson Custom Shop 335. You may find the 498T and 490R are a little hot for the semi-hollow...

    Purchased an SX EG6

Gibson 57 Classic Humbuckers. That's what the 335's come with. If you want that tone, those are the pickups you want. Curious.. If you were after a 335 clone why didn't you buy an Epiphone Sheraton II?

    what's an excellent first guitar

I tell you what.. I have over 30 guitars - Guilds, Gibsons, Martins, Taylors, Fenders, Rickenbackers... and the one I like to reach for is the cheap $109 Hofner HAS-01 Sienna. It is excellent for the money. They are even sold at Norman's Rare Guitars...
