Got a pair of B&W DM610's from MAXZ28, and couldn't be happier. He did a super good job with the packing, was a great transaction all around. Oh ya, the speakers sound pretty damn good too!:thmbsp:
Looking good wildcataz!:thmbsp: I have mine hooked up to my computer system with a Maverick dac and a Sansui AU-9500 and they sound great.
They won't knock pictures off the walls, but for medium to low level listening they work perfect for me.
I scored a SX-1050 out of my closet a couple of years back. I had traded an old crappy guitar for it 20 years ago, and it sat in the closet all that time. Mark the fixer helped me get it going again and since then I have collected all kinds of 70's stereo crap. :thmbsp:
Had the same problem with my 1050 a couple of years ago. It turned out to be the reed relay P/N ASR-005 on the tuner board. The slightest tap on the relay would restore the missing channel so I replaced it and it worked well.
This relay however is sealed and cannot be cleaned as far as I...
I was able to TIG weld one back together on a SX-1050. I just used a sliver of 321 stainless with a copper backing plate as a heat sink and fused the two together. If you know a decent welder, it's possible.
Of the two integrated's I have, (AU-9900 and AU-9500) I prefer the 9500. The 9900 sounds great cranked up, nice and clean, but at lower volumes the lack of a loudness switch leaves it sounding a little lack luster to me. The 9500 on the other hand just seems to do it all good IMO.
I purchased...
I have a pair of Tangent 500's I bought in Rota Spain in the 90's. Despite the bad press they receive around here, I think they sound pretty damn good.
Been messing with these at my shop over the last month or so. JBL 2214H and QSC/DE250 combo. Crossover is the Deluxe version. So far I really like these alot. As others have mentioned, I think the DE250 is alot smoother than the 220ti at higher volume. Low end sounds great so far also. It's...
It's true! I have often heard my AU-9500 taunting my G-8000. It's says things like " Oh, you think your so cool with your silver face and gigantic knobs" and " The only reason you are on the top shelf over me is because your such a fatass and you won't fit anywhere else".
I may have to...
Hmmmmm, Well, don't expect a miracle but when I did mine it was a very noticeable improvement. I had recapped other speakers in the past and didn't reallly notice a drastic difference. Not the case with these though.
Or you can do this....:music:
Yep, It's just that simple for me.
I've also noticed that in my case the louder I have the volume the flatter I have the tone controls. Genre also plays a big part in how I tweak.
I think everyone would love to live in a magical world with unicorns, perfect hearing, and perfect listening...
Mine are always in constant flux. In my experience, no two recordings are the same, so I adjust to whatever sounds good to me at the time. But to answer your question, at this very moment they are set as follows:
Bass +6
Turnover 300Hz
Mid 0
Turnover 1.5KHz
Treble +6
Turnover 3.5KHz...
