    Sumiko Pro-Ject Perspective Turntable

No further comments or responses. Apparently, I completely misinterpreted this: "How would it compare to my trusty Technics SL1200Mk2?"

which song has your fav rock guitar solo ever?

This post should come with a warning that your head will explode if you listen to even 1/16th of the solos listed here. Hoorah... for nods to John Sykes (sick vibrato), Eddie Hazel (who says a funk band can't play rock) and so many others... I'll throw in Nuno's Decadence Dance, Vito...

    Vinyl only spin list

I know what you mean. I do like Burt and Dusty and yes it's a great recording with good production... but, I can think of several albums that I think are equally as good musically and production-wise in many different genres that are all but forgotten. :scratch2: I don't think I quite "get it"...

Post a picture of your turntable

Are those the original footers?? Surely, not... I love the look of that! Makes me want to find an SL-1511, if there is such a thing, or the Euro version of an SL-150.

The arm looks Rega. The cartridge looks Denon. The record clamp looks Sota. Don't recognize the table.... ???

    Cassette Deck Belts... again...

Sorry folks... Wondering where most of you get replacement belts? I see that Turntableneedles.com carries them. Are they the place to go are there better places to shop and/or better belts to be had? There must be a thread in here somewhere about this. Thanks in advance for any help!

No Score at the Record Store!!

At the point where the price becomes excessive, it reduces my decision to, "Do I want it purely as a collector's item?" I am a never say die vinyl enthusiast. I love the format. I love the sound. I've been spinning vinyl since I was 2 years old, literally. BUT... I am a music lover/appreciator...

No Score at the Record Store!!

Oh, I forgot... to add insult to injury, in order to price the records, the attendant would take the records out of the covers, handling them by the grooves, getting finger prints all over them, flipping them and occasionally dropping the record 3 or 4 inches to the counter and sliding them...

No Score at the Record Store!!

Sorry for being unclear. Only 3 or 4 records were under $10. Everything else was at or well over $10. Many of the prices vehemently defied Goldmine or any other price guide I've seen. I hadn't felt like that since $4 gasoline. JDaniel: It is a free market. I voted with my wallet and I will...

No Score at the Record Store!!

I was in a college town just south of Nashville last week and decided to stop in at an old vinyl haunt of mine. I hadn't been there in a while. (Before I go on, I should point out that I was lucky enough to land a part time job a few years back as a vinyl grader/pricer for a used record store. I...
